Dear Mary Rose:
No, No, I didn't have my picture taken as yet. I certainly am having a lot of difficulty in this connection. One of these days I'm going to break loose and snap photos as you alone can do in you back yard. I know I've slipped up here but I never forget a promise. So please continue to be as patient as you have been. You will be rewarded.
Walt was assigned the horse we fought over the early weeks of our vacation here. Firefly is my number and a pretty good horse. He is a chestnut and very pretty. I'll send you a copy- honest.
The week end leave is still pretty much of a question and the only thing to do is to anticipate getting a pass as quickly as possible. At the same time I mustthink up a good excuse for being so bold as to ask for a slight leave. Boy have I got nerve. (over)
We'll all be pleased to ses Shirley S. and hope she does take the time out to visit the camp.
Sorry I didn't say my little bit about Amanda's engagement. Please speak to her for me wishing her the best of luck and a snappy wedding. Has it been arranged as yet?
So the baseball team won a game. Do they have a little beer gathering after each meeting (game) as in days of old?
Walt has our address all messed up. The one I show is positively authentic. He's sitting by here and has just pilfered your picture. He even threatens to keep it. Not for long tho.
We have been getting plenty of riding recently and are going to put on a lance parade in a neighboring city this coming Saturday evening. Thirty of the men will participate and all of the A.A.I. boys are accounted for in this number.
It's getting very close to bed-check time (10:30 P.M.) and I shall be fast asleep or dreaming in very short order. So long and write soon. I wasn't very quick at answering your last letter but I believe it was the first time. Wasn't it?
As Ever
Stan.

Dear Stan-
How is the Cavalry by now. Ashley say you all are going great guns. Hope you don't miss American Auto and the good bars in Cincy as much as I do. Haven't been in the air since Apr. 8and won't get up for about 6 weeks more. Lot of drilling and plane handeling. Drop a line and I will do the same. Say "hello" to the fellows.

Dear Stan:
For goodness sake- slug the whosit- tell him your great aunt Susie is dying of a broken heart on account of she hasn't seen you in how long? or on second thought just slug him- It might help. Do you remember saying about a proposed tour around the country and if your memory is now refreshed- tell me is it still going to be done- if so when and if not- well.
Do you know a Jim Condoe reported to be a member of the Camp Forrest Condoe's. What brought him into the picture you ask. I will tell you - he is the cousin of a friend of mine- by name of Mary Glassmeyer and I just wondered if you knew him. Curiousity once killed a cat I'm told but after all I'm (no remarks)
Hooray for the baseball team. Another game won- 14-2. Uh uhm, after each game everyone flocks to the Tally Ho for a little beer gathering. SAM even hit/made a two bagger last night. Speaking of ball what do you think of the Reds- maybe they're in a rut.
Last Saturday about fifteen of Amer. Auto's employees rode off to Sunnyside in Kentucky and did a bit of horseback riding. Two were thrown- Bill White and Harold Posten by name and Jim Sullivan who had a nag who wouldn't do nothin but drag along finally crawled off left the poor thing tied to a tree walked back and told the owner the old horse hadn't budged an inch for the last half hour and he was tired of coaxing it. This is a TRUE story. Also I took some pictures and while I have pictures on the brain have you?
Let's see the weather is warm, very, very warm and I hope the swimming pools open soon as I am just aching to try my hand at swimming and diving. By the way if you hear a noise that sounds suspiciously like an explosion- it won't be-that is it won't be anything but me trying- so hard to dive.
I'm off again- and as the hour is late- its for a date with Morpheus- and so "Goodnight" and answer soon.
Sincerely,
Mary Rose
P.S. I am patient
